If you love the wheels so much you want to keep them, we can sell them to you at a discounted price. In the past two years, the 303 has emerged as one of the most formidable wheels in the Pro Peloton, with wins in the Tour de France, Paris-Roubaix, the Tour of Flanders, and more. Its speed, light weight, and utter reliability have been proven in pro cycling's most demanding races.In 2010, the 303 made history by becoming the first carbon wheelset to win cycling's Cobbled Classics on the brutal roads of both Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders. Its wider rim provided extra durability, and improved aerodynamics. That wider rim led to the development of our revolutionary Firecrest platform, and now the revolution has come full circle.The 303 has been completely redesigned with Firecrest shaping. The Carbon Clincher preserves the aerodynamic advantages of its tubular brother, while adding the convenience of a clincher tire. And at just 1498 grams, it's light enough to climb up the steepest gradients with ease.All of the hallmark characteristics of the 303 have improved with the Firecrest Carbon Clincher. The Firecrest shaping optimizes the aerodynamic profile of both the front half and the back half of the wheel. In addition, Firecrest moves the center of pressure of the wheel backwards, giving the 45mm-deep rim the crosswind stability a box-section rim. At the same time, the 26.2mm-wide brake track allows the clincher tire to take on a wider, more stable shape without compromising rolling resistance. It's faster, simpler, and more stable. Or as technical director Josh Poertner puts it, Firecrest is “lightning in a bottle.”Firecrest RevolutionThe new wheels retain all the small details that make Zipp wheels what they are. Exposed spoke nipples sit in the aerodynamic shadow of the rims, keeping serviceability simple without compromising speed. And our signature ABLC™ rim dimples squeeze every last second of performance possible. To complete the package, Zipp has refined its venerable 88/188 hubset, reshaping the hub body, canting the non-drive side flange by 8 degrees and moving the bearing out by 7.5mm to increase overall stiffness and strength. The complete wheelsets come in two distinct colors. The stealthy Beyond Black versions feature black anodized hubs, black spokes, and black decals. The Falcon Grey wheelsets have a more classic look, with gray anodized hubs, silver spokes and white decals.

The 58mm rim profile is a classic in Zipp’s arsenal that dates back to the early ‘90s. These days, the 404 Tubular still winning races from the Queen K to L’Alpe d’Huez. Now, with the advanced Firecrest aero rim shape, our leading all-around performer is an even greater threat to win any race on any terrain.By controlling airflow around the back half of the wheel, Firecrest makes the latest version of the 404 9 seconds faster than its predecessor over 40km at a moderate 10-degree wind angle. At higher wind angles, the improvements are even more dramatic in terms of both speed and stability. That’s because Firecrest moves the center of pressure closer to the steering axis, so crosswinds exert lower side force on the wheel.Aerodynamics aside, the 404’s new 27mm-wide profile offers a slew of other benefits on the road. The upgraded lateral stiffness makes the 404 even more responsive to accelerations and more precise when cornering. And its composite structure is designed to absorb impacts by flexing slightly outward – which gives you a comfortable ride and long-term durability.Even with all these improvements, Firecrest technology hasn’t added a gram to the 404 Tubular’s weight of just 1278g. The 808 changed perceptions about deep-section wheels. At first, its 81mm-deep profile appeared only in time trials and triathlons. And sure enough, its early incarnations netted numerous Grand Tour stage wins and Kona IM world championships.Still, it didn’t take long before Zipp riders discovered that the 808’s light weight, responsiveness, and solid handing are ideally suited to hilly bike legs, criteriums, field sprints, and long days off the front of the peloton.Firecrest RevolutionNow, with the new Firecrest rim shape, the 808 has improved in almost every metric. Its 27mm-wide profile is 15 seconds faster than before over 40km, and now equals or exceeds the performance of any 90mm-deep rim on the market as well as many discs. At high wind angles, the 808’s aero advantage is even greater, yet Firecrest also makes the 808 remarkably stable.Essentially, the 808 provides the speed of a much deeper rim with the handling of a much shallower one. On windy, non-disc-legal course like Kona, that counts for a lot. And in Firecrest's first crack at elite-level competition, Chris McCormack rode it to a win on the Big Island in 2010.With its wider profile, the latest 808 Tubular also shows improved lateral stiffness for efficient power transfer and crisp acceleration, yet offers greater comfort and impact resistance than its predecessor.Pro triathletes like Macca build their seasons around a few crucial events where aerodynamics are everything. 900 Clincher Disc

Rather than post-bonding a rim around a flat or lenticular disc, we've incorporated our patented toroidal rim shape and used our proprietary M2CM technology to increase strength while reducing drag around the interface of aluminum and carbon. For long course triathletes, the bulged cross-section offers a comfortable vertical compliance that can reduce fatigue during long stretches in the saddle.Using the PowerTap version of the 900 clincher, Jordan Rapp posted the fastest bike split at Wildflower and a win at Ironman Canada in 2009.With the ease of clinchers and optimal aerodynamics for tires up to 23mm, the 900 Clincher is the perfect choice on less-than-perfect road surfaces. This disc may also be adapted for track use.

900 Tubular Disc

Although it doesn’t quite match the aero performance of the Super-9 and Sub-9, the Zipp 900 disc remains one of the lightest, stiffest disc wheels in the world and was still more than fast enough to help Kristin Armstrong to victory in the 2008 Olympic time trial.At just 936g with a cassette hub, the 900 is light enough for the hilliest triathlon or time trial courses. Swap the road setup for a track configuation, and the same wheel is ready for action at the highest levels of the sport. Now that's versatility.Zipp was founded 20 years ago to produce carbon fiber discs that were lighter and faster than anything else available at the time. Today, the 900 still reflects that commitment to giving you the perfect tool for whatever situation you find yourself in.

Super 9 Tubular Disc

The Super-9 disc excels in races won on full-throttle power. Intended for time trials, track racing, and the occasional Tour de France prologue, the Super-9 is stiffer than our 900 disc and matches the Sub-9’s remarkable ability to generate forward lift when paired with our Tangente tire.The Super-9 borrows from the perimeter shape that makes the Sub-9 so fast it can actually generate forward lift. But in place of the Sub-9’s toroidal bulge, the Super-9 stays flat from its widest point all the way to the hub. As a result, the Super-9 is much stifferand more responsive than the Sub-9, but just as aerodynamic - even with 23mm tires.The Super-9’s hub features the stiff 17mm axles of the 188 road hub along with adjustable bearing preload with the industry’s only aero preload nut. The standard version of the Super-9 weighs less than 1,000 grams and is convertible between road and track setups.The Super-9 has claimed multiple world TT championships and Tour stages, not to mention the bike split of the fourth-fastest Iron-distance triathlon performance of all time.Notes Valve stem must be at least 45mm. Please use a 27mm valve extender with all Tangente tires. Integrated aero rear brakes in some frames may present clearance issues; please check fit with brake before purchasing.

Sub 9 Tubular Disc

The Sub-9's highlights so far include a pair of Ironman 70.3 World Championships, a Tour yellow jersey, some of the fastest Iron-distance bike splits ever recorded. We expected nothing less from the ultimate aerodynamic breakthrough.In the center of the aero "sweet spot" – a wind angle of 12 to 18 degrees – the Zipp Sub-9 was the first wheel ever to produce forward lift, when paired with our 21mm Tangente tire. To achieve this feat, we added a toroidal bulge similar to our spoked rims around the edge of the disc to control airflow at the wheel’s leading and trailing edges. In addition to improving aero performance, the bulge’s vertical compliance keeps the Sub-9 glued to the road when cornering and yields a comfortable ride, hour after hour. This makes it the ideal choice for long-course triathletes to bounce out of T2 with fresh legs after a blistering bike split.For decades, an obsession with aerodynamics has influenced everything from wheels to water bottles. Page 1 Q: How do I book my wheels?A: Simply go to the rent page and fill out the wheel availability section. We will email you back if we have the wheels you want for the weekend you want. If we don't have your preferred wheel option in stock, we will let you know what we have or what is best for that course.Q: When do my wheels arrive if shipped?A: We will ship your wheels for delivery on the Tuesday or Wednesday before your weekend event. You must ship the wheels back to us on the following Monday or Tuesday. Accidents do happen. Crashes and large potholes can come out of nowhere and this is where insurance becomes vital! We highly recommend insurance, otherwise you could be out-of-pocket for the cost of a new wheel or two!Q: I've thinking of booking tubulars. What happens if I puncture?A: We only charge $40 to replace the tire (our cost). Thankfully the days of carrying and changing a spare tubular are gone. You can buy a product called Vittoria PitStop. In the event of a puncture, simply attach the canister onto your value like a CO2 bulb and the tire will inflate to 80PSI along with a Latex goo that seals the puncture. Easy! The canister is small enough to be easily taped under your saddle and out of the way.Q: Do I need to purchase brake pads?A: The short answer is no. All our Carbon Clincher wheels come with pads. If you book Tubular wheels, it’s your choice to purchase carbon brake pads. Carbon pads are not necessary, but will help you stop a little better in wet conditions.Q: What is the difference between Tubulars and Clinchers?A: Clinchers are a tire and tube like your training wheels, and Tubulars are a tire and tube all-in-one which is glued onto the rim.Q: How do these wheels handle in windy conditions?A: Lighter weight riders (less than 140 lbs) may not receive the full advantages of deeper wheels in strong crosswinds (such as the 808s, and Discs). We recommend 404s or 808/404 combos for the lighter rider. So unless you can power through the wind, look for wheels that present the best aerodynamic advantage that you can comfortably ride.
